After watching The Golden Globes, one thing was very clear. Nude lips are totally in. Pretty much everyone was wearing variations of this look on the red carpet.

In my opinion, nude lipsticks can be one of the trickiest lip colors to choose. They can look very dull, or wash you out, if you don’t choose the right color. Here are a few of my favorite go-to nude lip colors. All of these options are perfect to achieve this red carpet look:

MAC Honeylove
This color is a classic. It’s more of a traditional nude, as compared to the other options I’ve provided.

NARS Chelsea Girls Lip Lacquer
This has a hint of peach to it, so it’s great if you feel like a nude lipstick usually washes you out. You can also see this product here.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Lab Shine Lip Gloss Star Collection- S2
This is a gorgeous pearly, light beige color. It looks gorgeous alone, or over a lipstick.

NYX Xtreme Lip Creme in Natural, at Ulta or drugstores
This color is made for fair to light/medium skin tones. I say this because I think it could come off a bit too pastel on darker skin. It’s a cross between gloss and lipstick. I usually apply this and then blot because the color can be a bit opaque for my skin tone. Once I blot, the color and coverage are perfect! It’s a great value and a perfect shade to achieve the nude lip.

So true, everyone’s makeup was very understated with nude lips! I love it. I agree that it can really wash you out and not be very flattering so using a lipliner or applying a brighter gloss on top can really warm it up while still being “nude”. You named my faves above! Creme de nude by MAC is another great one but I always wear a pink gloss over it.
I have only tried Creme d’nude on when I worked at the counter & honestly can’t remember it. I’ll have to try it on again next time I go shopping!

I have mixed feelings about this look. I think some of the actresses just looked washed out by it. I like Megan Fox and Adele’s the best. Their shades seem to have a bit of mauve to them that gives them that extra kick.
Totally agree with you! Julianne Hough & Halle Berry’s makeup has definitely looked MUCH better. I think a lot of the ladies could have chosen a nude with a bit more color, or different undertone. Good eye!!
I definitely love a nude lip! Honeybee looks gorgeous, I’m not familiar with it. I love YSL rouge Volupte in -#1, and Nars Velvet Matte in Bettina among many others

Personally I love nude a nude lip. My fav was Chanel Rouge Allure in Mythic (69), however it was discontinue and I am looking for a new replacement.
I am wondering what you think of matte nude lips and do you have any suggestions?
